AELTA – THE CHAMPIONSHIPS, WIMBLEDON

‘Wimbledon Awaits’, is an activation platform and brand experience for the AELTA, The Championships, Wimbledon.


The campaign idea was conceived out of the insight and understanding of the unique relationship tennis fans have with The Championships and capitalises on the excitement and anticipation they feel when they arrive in SW19, walk along the famous queue, as they make their way to the gates of ‘The Home of Tennis’, the All England Lawn Tennis Club.


First launched in 2013, for 2014 the ambition was to delve deeper and explore the emotion behind the special place 'The Championships’ hold in the hearts and minds of tennis players and supporters around the world.


The ‘Wimbledon Awaits’ platform continues to be activated, with a new story unveiled each year, for one of the most iconic and prestigious sporting events in the world.


The creative was crafted to bring to life the story behind each of the ‘Awaits’ key messages, with personal stories of iconic players, combined with iconic imagery for the Wimbledon archive, to further enhance the visitor experience and build greater intimacy with fans.


OOH media and 3rd space takeover at Wimbledon Station, Southfields Station and ‘The Queue’ at Wimbledon Park with creative displays and an immersive walkway, complete with replica AELTC iconic gates.
